My mother says, when we say: "I don't know what's wrong with me," we actually do know, but we just lie to ourselves that we don't. When she told me that, I automatically responded"I seriously don't know what's wrong with me!"
But then, without consciously knowing it, what she said was still there, in the back of my mind.
It is that moment when you are seriously fed up, and you start really losing it, that you realize that, you do actually know what is wrong with you, or in other words, what's bothering you.
Sometimes it is a million thing that get on your nerves because they are all bothering you. Sometimes it is one huge thing that is bothering you. Sometimes it is a million thing that you're bothered by, only because you're denying the one main thing that is bothering you.
And the thing is, we do know all along what it is, but we choose to ignore it; we choose to deny it; we choose to get irritated by everything and everyone, except what matters the most.
And my mother was right, like moms always are, well most of the time, well sometimes.. Anyways! So she was right. At that time, I found that thing that was bothering me while I was praying. I automatically said a prayer that indicated that I'm actually bothered by one main thing. Mom was right.
That moment of realization may come anytime. You may be crying your eyes out, and ask "why..." and while asking that you automatically point your finger on what is bothering you. It may come while talking about it with someone, or maybe while writing about it. Just look for it, it is somewhere there, just find it. You always know what is wrong with you, you just have to admit that you do, and work on fixing it! Yes, it's that simple! - I wish?
Goodnight world!
Its like you only have 1 tiny point but you stretched it in 20 lines lol
ReplyDeleteYes exactly, Anonymous!
ReplyDeleteI think both you and your mother are right .. the thing is we kinda know what's wrong and by that i mean we have a hypothesis, a guessing to what is wrong with us but we need more evidences and proofs to support the hypothesis and sub7anAllah we only realize what's wrong while praying :P lol
ReplyDeleteAlso, sometimes we know the what the problem is but we tend to purposely deny it coz it's hard to solve/fix therefore we search for another problem, probably much easier to solve.
Anyway, I second Anonymous' comment and I was hesitant whether to comment or not :P
Abdulla, yes I guess we all have hypotheses about everything. And sometimes not only while praying..
ReplyDeleteand lol! I'm glad Anonymous was brave enough to say it without mentioning his/her name so you would say it too haha. Thanks for passing!
This is actually very true... Wise words indeed, and I believe in them too..
ReplyDeleteIn my case, I do know what's bothering me...
and I do know that I'm just denying it...
:3
Bushra! It's good to see you here!
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess you shouldn't over think it and just start doing something about it! (easy to say hard to do :p)
Thanks! ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to acknowledge it, btw ;)
