Senior 2008

As I was looking through high school pictures looking for a picture my friend Amal asked for, I realized how the people in those pictures have changed so much and not changed at all since that time. It is surreal, to look at myself and remember all the things that could have possibly been on my mind while the picture was taken.

In those pictures I am doing all kinds of care-free things, laughing so hard, making a stupid face, standing on one foot, teasing a friend,.. all kinds of things. Yet I continue to say that that year was the most depressing year of my life. How come? What was on my mind other than worrying about my grades, my friends, the university I want to apply to, and all the school drama with teachers?

It was very different, our problems were concentrated in two areas: school and house. That was it. That was our special special world, that was our vast vast world. It is amazing how things change.

Our special special world, our vast vast world, continues to be about two or three areas (home, university, work..etc), yet each area expands so much when we leave school that we take time to adjust to it and grasp it. I don't know..
